Our trip to Nepal and Bhutan was amazing. You and all the guides, drivers and porters did a fantastic job covering all our needs and wishes from the moment we were picked up at the airport to the moment we were returned to the airport.

There are no words to describe Bhutan and our stay there was really fantastic. The trek to the Tiger's Nest monastery was a once in a lifetime experience. We also got a glimse into Bhutan's cultural life by taking part in the ParoTshechu Festival.

The tours in Kathmandu were so insightful and we experienced a new culture and people. We learned so much along our journey about hinduism and buddhism when we visited temples, stupas and sacred sites. The Ghorepani trek was a perfect short beautiful journey in the Annapurna region. I'm already looking forward to explore other hiking trails in the same area.

Thank you once again to you and the wonderful staff and guides for an amazing experience. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Our trip to Nepal and Bhutan exceeded our expectations and we definately like to return someday.

Excellent Family Experience We just completed a 10 day trek of ABC with ATN. We are a family of five from Australia (kids 14, 16, 19). ATN was excellent with communication and advice prior to the trek. Overall they are a very professional and trustworthy company. The highlight for us was the fantastic guides (Anuj) and assistant (Peranya). They are just good humans who were always upbeat and able to bond with the kids and keep their spirits high (even if things got difficult). Everyday is leg day in Nepal, so expect a lot of steep steps and varied terrain. From talking to other travellers, ABC seems like the pick of the treks to experience a range of landscapes (forest, villages, snow cap mountains) and local culture. Happy travels.

Comments: I completed the Annapurna base camp trek with my family over 10 days and it was the best holiday I ever experienced. The views were incredible and felt like an amazing accomplishment by the end of it. I would say the main thing that really got everyone through was the porters and tour guides. They provided us with incredible service and were super involved with all of us. They always had a great chat with us and were very helpful and understanding when we had tough days. Every night we were given some background on Nepal’s history or some of the temples we saw that day. After dinner our porters would give us a plate of fresh cut up fruit they had carried for us the whole way. Our guides would play a variety of card games with us each day and my brothers and I would teach them magic tricks. Even though some of the places weren’t as luxurious our porters and guides made the experience incredible and super enjoyable for my family and I. A great stay all because of Anuj, Peranya, Minh, Purna and Prem Ray.

Comments: Overall, we had a magnificent experience, and everything was very well organized by Adventure Trek Nepal — from the moment we were picked up at the airport until we left two weeks later.

Our guide and porters did an excellent job. While it's not particularly challenging to find the right path, it was incredibly convenient to have someone who knew the area and took care of all the planning, accommodation bookings, food, etc. In addition, our guide very generously shared his knowledge not only about the trek itself but also about Nepal in a broader context — which really added a lot of value!

We completed the trek in 10 days, with a couple of days in Kathmandu and Pokhara on either side. Although it’s possible to finish the ABC trek more quickly, it was clear that the route and planning had been carefully thought out.

This is one of these Treks that are off the beaten path. Perhaps this is one of the reasons I've enjoyed this trip so much. Another point to consider is, that in this occasion I travelled with a group of friends instead of by myself. We did a good choice when we booked this trip with Adventure Treks Nepal. If you are lucky and everything goes smooth sailing then maybe it doesn't matter which agency you book with, but if, as it sometimes happens your trip goes wrong, then is when a reliable agency come in handy. To begin with, one of the team members got a excruciating back pain and had to be rescued by helicopter, later another team member caught a bad cold and had to be descended to the nearest lodge when trying to reach the summit. In both situations, first Mr. Gyan (the manager) and Mr. Jeet (our mountain guide) come in very helpful in dealing with all the inconveniences. Apart from these troubles we have had a enjoyable trip, had a lot of fun, and a great deal of good lifelong memories.

The first trek went really well with ATN, so I decided to go back with Anuj for a new mountain adventure. I opted for a combined Annapurna Base Camp and Mardi Himal trek.

I can't find the right words to describe this experience that I will, for sure, never forget.

Between the harshness of the mountain, the breathtaking beauty, the spirituality that reigns in these places, everything was there.

During this trek we laughed, suffered (a little bit), ate well, saw holly mountains, lush forests straight out of "Avatar", glimpsed white-headed monkeys, and dogs, horses, donkeys and many other wonders...

Once again, I salute and thank Anuj infinitely for his mountain experience, his good humor and for allowing me to know that I was capable of exceeding my limits.

I can only recommend you to do this adventure with a guide as professional and friendly as Anuj.

I asked Gyan to put together a few days of exploring Kathmandu, and he organized a great itinerary with a driver and guide. Adventure Treks Nepal came highly recommended by some friends and I definitely would highly recommend this company and Gyan. The hotels he picked out for me and the vehicles were all exactly right! I did a solo Everest Three Passes hike with Adventure Trek Nepal using just one guide/porter, and it was fantastic. My guide and the company were incredibly prepared to deal with everything planned and unplanned, dealing with unforeseen/unusual weather, flight changes, and all of my questions/concerns. The communication before and during the trek was amazing, responsive, and helpful. My guide, Dev, spoke great English, was super positive despite the difficulty of the trip, and was great company. The company helped me rent a super warm sleeping bag, supplied duffel bags, and some necessary gear, like crampons, making a less “comfortable” trip much easier than it otherwise would have been. I ended up finishing earlier than anticipated, and they were able to rebook my flights so I could get home a couple of days earlier than originally planned. My highlights were Kalapattar for sunset and the first high mountain pass on Kong Ma La. The views were absolutely unparalleled and I felt it was beyond worth it and nexsssary to do the three passes (versus just EBC) to escape crowds and see the raw nature. I can’t imagine and would not recommend using any other company for this sort of trek! Can’t wait to come back to visit this amazing country.

Comments: "Go With Adventure Treks Nepal! "

I had a fantastic experience with Adventure Treks Nepal! I went on the Three Passes Trek from late October into mid November as a solo trekker. It was an unforgettable experience, made even better by the friendly, professional, and competent folks at Adventure Treks Nepal.

My principal contact at AT was Gyan, who ensured that all the relevant hotels, drivers, tours, flights, luggage storage, and guides were booked in advance. The only part of the trip I had to arrange was the international airfare. Everything else was taken care of. Gyan was even waiting for me when I landed at KTM, and personally saw to checking me into my hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and centrally located in the Thamel (tourist) district of Kathmandu.

From there, I had a day long guided tour of the highlights of Kathmandu. My guide was very knowledgeable about the history of each site. We very easily covered more ground in a more informative way than I'd have ever been able to arrange myself. This was an additional experience that Adventure Treks offered for an additional fee, and was worth every penny.

Early following morning, my trek started. I was introduced to my porter and guide, Dev, and we set off. All in all, the trek was 17 days. Due to some inclement weather at the beginning, we ended up skipping the first of the three passes, but otherwise, the trip went very smoothly. There really aren't words to describe the beauty of the area. I'm from a mountainous region of Canada, and have a lot of experience in the hills, but was still left speechless more times than I could count.

If you want to see as much of Sagarmatha Park as possible, I can't recommend the Three Passes Trek enough. It'll give you a terrific crash course of the region. Anytime the trek's route matched up with the Everest Base Camp trek, the trails and tea houses were pretty busy (I went during high season, so this was to be expected). Once the trek moved away from EBC, things were very quiet and relaxed.

Dev is quite obviously a seasoned guide. In addition to carrying most of my gear (as well as his own), he provided endless insights into the history, geography, and culture of the region. He made sure we always had accommodations reserved, and was very good at checking in regularly to make sure I was eating/drinking/sleeping well at elevation. I couldn't have asked for a better companion on the trek.

Upon my return to Kathmandu, Gyan helped to arrange shipping some of my trekking gear back to Canada to make my further travels easier to manage. On my last day in Nepal, he took me to a traditional Thakali restaurant for lunch, and accompanied me to the airport to catch my flight.

I'm very glad to have chosen Adventure Treks Nepal for this trip. They weren't the cheapest option I could find, but it was important to me to use a company that is Nepali owned and operated and provides insurance and fair pay to its guides and porters.

We did the Everest Base Camp trek with Adventure Treks Nepal. Mr. Gyan is very fast at replying to emails and inquiries prior to the trip and took care of all logistics. Our flight into Lukla was delayed due to cloudy weather and Gyan was able to arrange for helicopter flight, saving us valuable time and hassle. When we returned to Lukla late in the morning, Gyan was able to get us on a last minute flight back to Kathmandu instead of waiting until the next morning for our scheduled flights. Overall the logistical support is excellent.

Our guide Ramesh was funny and very knowledgeable, highly recommended. The walking pace was just about right for our group and this is very important at high altitude. One has to find the appropriate pace for oneself and not trying to keep up with the fastest member in the group.

One thing future clients can do to improve their experience is asking about the specific tea houses that they will be staying at. Adventure Treks Nepal uses the same tea houses along the EBC route. Most are decent quality. However, in Dingboche we stayed at the Lucky Hotel where our room wall is paper thin and the rooms became very cold at night. We saw other tea houses with sturdier construction such as the Summit Hotel. In Lobuche we stayed at the Alpine Home where the room walls are thicker and the rooms were much warmer at night. That made a huge difference. You can research the tea houses in Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thyangboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep and ask for the best ones, if possible.

We upgraded to 5 star hotel while in Kathmandu and were put up at the Yak/Yeti hotel. The hotel looks fancy and in a great location. However, the rooms were rather old, unworthy of the 5 star rating. Wifi was not free. If you are thinking of upgrading to 5 star hotel, consider another hotel (the Hyatt is great).

Overall we were very happy with Adventure Treks Nepal. Chuong

We went to Nepal form October 30th to November 23rd 2019 with Adventure Treks Nepal. We really enjoyed having a personalized itinerary. The tour had two aspects, a cultural component and a trekking tour at the Annapurna Sanctuary. We very much enjoyed having our private guide for the duration of the stay. The trekking took place at our own pace and the views are spectacular in the beautiful Annapurna Sanctuary. The cultural tour made us discover Kathmandu and its suburbs, the countryside, the Nepalese culture, their way of life and their great spirituality. There is also a lot of work to rebuild following the earthquake in 2015. Thanks to Goan for organizing our stay, to Bhuwan our guide and to Purna our porter. It was a wonderful unforgettable trip.

We booked a 12 day Anapurna Base Camp trek with Adventure Trekking. After vetting a great number of trekking companies we opted for this company over others because of good reviews, and having spoken with Gyan, the owner, he confirmed that the company was committed to sustainable tourism and being a fair and ethical employer to guides and porters. It was a wise decision to choose this company as our trip was excellent. Ramesh (our guide) was very friendly, attentive and super professional. He made organising everything look so easy. He was extremely kind and hospitable. Checking that hot water showers worked at tea houses, getting us seated in tea houses after a long trek and taking tea orders (Hot ginger and lemon ) and food orders. We did actually do some trekking as well as eating and drinking tea! You really feel looked after by Ramesh as if by a friend. His approach of briefing us daily on the plan for the following day removed any apprehension we might have had or complications that we could have encountered on the trek. It gave us such a nice start to each day as we knew what to expect. Ramesh was always happy to answer questions about the region, his previous experiences, Nepalese culture and his personal life. Also, he was happy to walk in silence or chat to our porter Bishnu. Bishnu was very nice, friendly and helpful. He didn't speak English but we had a few conversations with him through Ramesh which created a team atmosphere.

The tea houses that Ramesh booked for us were all adequate. Some had real charm to them and seemed very authentic. It was also nice that Ramesh has a rapport with some of the tea house owners being ones that the company usually books with. One tea house was not as nice as the others we had stayed at during the previous day's but generally we were impressed with the good levels of accommodation in such a remote area. It also seemed like Ramesh always pushed for us to have the best room avaliable. The food in all the tea houses was great. "Dhal bat power 24 hour!" Remarkably, even the western dishes were much better than I expected!

The trek itself was varied, strenuous but perfectly manageable if you have some multi day trekking experience and motivation. There are stairs... be prepared to get very friendly with these stairs... in a way you might never have to date or may never will again in the future. The many stairs are worth it. Just stretch out those legs of yours for a bit in the morning and you'll be fine. The views were really beautiful.

The day after leaving Annapurna base camp I was unable to continue the remaining two days of the trek due to an injury. Ramesh and Gyan were so supportive and arranged for us to travel back by jeep from the nearest possible location. Gyan also kept in touch to check on my recovery! I would thoroughly recommend adventure trekking and I'm sure I'll return to Nepal and book another trip with them in the future.

Pro tip - If you plan to do ABC be aware that it starts to get quite cold from the beginning of December.

We chose the Annapurna Panorama trek. It was great. The views from Poon Hill are great. Our guide and porter were very helpful and constantly worked to make our trek enjoyable.

This is the second time I've used Adventure Treks Nepal (ATN) for a trek. Gyan, the owner of ATN, is fantastic. He pays attention to detail and constantly works to make sure that your trek is going well. As an example, my daughter and I got on an earlier flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu (it left one hour earlier than our scheduled flight). We expected to have to wait for Gyan at the airport for an hour. Instead, Gyan was there waiting for us. He had contacted the airline about our flight status and learned that we had left earlier. This is just one example of how Gyan works to make your trek enjoyable. My guides and porters have been great. If you schedule a trek with Adventure Treks Nepal you will be happy with your experience.
