With a reputation of being one of the most beautiful trekking trails in the world, our Annapurna Circuit Trek 18 days will not disappoint anyone exploring the region. Travelers have been observing the glorious views of Annapurna and Chu lu range since it was opened for trekking in 1977 A.D. The dramatically changing landscapes as we begin our trek from Chyamje (1,430m) is admired by everyone instead of driving up the valley to minimize the trekking days.

Annapurna Circuit Trek by Adventure Treks Nepal is prepared by expert guides because of whom you will not miss anything that this trail has to offer. The vegetation changes drastically from dense Oak forest to Pine forests and finally onto a Himalayan desert. As we gain altitude the landscape turns drier and the mountains seem huge as we approach them.

The mixture of people living throughout the trail also offers a lot of new experience and an opportunity to get in contact with their diversified culture. The last settlements of the trail are mostly inhabited by the Sherpa community reflecting preserved Buddhist culture.

This Annapurna Region Trek is regarded as a demanding trek as you will be crossing a trekking pass above 5,416 meters which requires some good level of physical fitness. All your hard work would be compensated by sceneries of Annapurna II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, Pisang Peak, Chu lu East, Chulu West, Thorang Peak, Dhaulagiri and many other surrounding peaks of Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek region.

Annapurna Circuit Trek with Adventure treks Nepal will not end after you cross the Thorang La Pass as we have extended the trek further towards Poonhill where you will have one last 180 degree view of Annapurna Range before heading towards Pokhara. However, according to your reference we can arrange a flight from Jomsom as well.

While you are in Muktinath our guides will also take you to visit a Holy Hindu Temple where it is believed all your sins would be removed if you take a bath in all its 108 taps and deep in two pools in front of the main temple.

Difficulty of Annapurna Circuit Trek

Annapurna Circuit Trekking trail wanders in high altitude with many steep uphill sections which might be difficult if you are physically and mentally not prepared. Along with trekking for many days above 4,000 meters you will be exposed to uncertain weather conditions and high speed winds. Thorang Pass Trek is one of the most challenging treks in the Annapurna Region and we suggest everyone to train for a minimum a month before starting the trek.

Annapurna Circuit Trek throughout the Year

Spring Season (March to May)

A perfect time of the year to visit this Himalayan gem. The days are normally clear, offering you good views of the surrounding mountains, peaks and valleys. The first section of the trail and Poon hill region will have some Rhododendron flowers blooming in this time of the year. The Rhododendrons around Ghorepani with tall mountains in the background will provide some great memories for everyone.

Summer Season (June to August)

Not regarded as the ideal time for trekking with frequent rainfall and leeches until 2,800 meters, Annapurna Circuit Trek receives very few visitors during this season.

But summer has its own beauty and there is a lot to see during this period. As you reach the villages of Manang, Kagbeni, Nagwal, Pisang you will have a beautiful view of fields filled with barley and while its flowers bloom the field turns all pink leaving a wonderful scenery.

Autumn Season (September to November)

Another best season to trek through Manang and over the Thorang La Pass. With sunny days and clear mountain views, people who have visited Annapurna Circuit Trek at this time of the year have never been disappointed. The wind is not so high and the mornings are usually clear, offering you time of a lifetime.

This is the busiest period on the Annapurna Circuit Trek so everyone is expected to book their trek in advance if you are planning to visit. Most of the Tea Houses are often booked or very busy with large numbers of internal and external tourists.

Winter Season (December to February)

It is the most dangerous time to travel Annapurna Circuit or any high altitude trek in Nepal. During winter there will be snow if most of the sections of the trail above 3,500 meters. Many parts will be more challenging and travelers need more energy to cross the pass. There have been some accidents while people were trekking in winter so we don’t suggest you choose this season for your visit. Avoid winter as much as possible for Annapurna Circuit Trek

After 110 km of drive we meet Marshyangdi River and we follow this river further north towards Besisahar.

From Besisahar we hop on to a 4WD Jeep to experience a thrilling Road trip to Chyamche. As we follow Marshyangdi River on the mountain road many waterfalls appear on our sites and we stop in these waterfalls to capture some good pictures. During today's hike you will get further close to the Pisang Peak, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and provide you the feeling of entering the Himalayas. The culture of people begins to change and the Aryan Face people will gradually be replaced by Mongolian faced natives.

The treeline becomes thinner as we approach close towards Pisang following the Marshyangdi River. Even Marshyangdi River will seem smaller as we gain altitude. From Pisang you will catch amazing vistas of the Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, Lamjung Himal, and many more.

On the trail today you will have the opportunity to visit an apple farm in Bhartang and try some of their apples and other products like apple pie, apple juice which they prepare themselves.

There is another option of taking the upper route to Manang via Nagwal and Ghyaru which has some steep uphill sections and is challenging compared to the lower trail. However, all your hard work will be paid off with brilliant views of the mountains and valley.

There is an ancient monastery in Braga which is a must visit place during this day of hiking. Our guides will take you to the monastery and help you interact with the monks there if you are interested.

The trail to Ice Lake is mostly uphill as we gain almost 1,100 meters of altitude and reach 4,600 meters. This lake has some of the outstanding views of the Annapurna and Chulu range with the mountains reflecting on the lake.

If you don’t wanna have a big hiking day, you can visit the Gangapurna Lake which is just 20-30 min away from Manang village. This glacier lake is just across the main village and has some of the thrilling views of overhanging glaciers of Mt. Gangapurna.
